One of the most unexpected benefits of cultivating a work-related social media presence has been the improvement of my friends and family’s understanding of my profession.
Before this, my partner would have struggled to explain my job role. “Something IT” would likely have been her response when asked. Now, however, she directs people to my YouTube channel, dubbing me a “business influencer”. 🤣
Several of my friends have taken to following me on LinkedIn. They’ve mentioned viewing my videos and have asked questions. One friend works as a Purchase Ledger clerk and will soon be implementing an accounts payable solution, seeking my advice in the process.
Breaking down my profession into easily digestible language, devoid of too much technical jargon, and providing examples through video content, has significantly contributed to clarifying my work for those around me.
